Sharon Dorram – colorist to the stars – is known for her natural look. She creates a look as natural as a child's hair, a master of blending style with timeless technique. And yet she is known for creating just the right shade for everyone who sits in her chair. Whether it is the perfect baby blonde, a deep mahogany brown, or a fantastic cedar red, you can spot Sharon's signature look from a mile away. Her roster of clients includes everyone from Kate Winslet and Barbra Streisand to Renee Zellweger, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Uma Thurman, Meg Ryan, Mary Louise Parker, Linda Evangelista, Candice Bergen, Lena Olin, Kevin Kline, Nicole Kidman and Edie Falco.
Though her signature coloring style is low maintenance, natural, and down to earth, Sharon Dorram's glamorous clientèle seems to defy her approach. Sharon graduated from Bennington College in Vermont and followed her love of the arts to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and Winchester School of Arts in the United Kingdom. Her artistic eye and color sense led her to train under Louis Licari in the late '80's followed by stints with some of the world's most prestigious stylists, including John Sahag, Oribe, Frederic Fekkai, and Peter Coppola.
In the late '90s Sharon joined the team at John Frieda and was named a Creative Consultant for the brand. While working at the esteemed salon, Sharon formed a friendship with stylist to the stars, Sally Hershberger. Nearly fifteen years after meeting, Dorram and Hershberger have unveiled their much anticipated joint venture, Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger in New York City. One of the most buzzed about beauty partnerships of the year, the dynamic duo will offer the crème de la crème in color and cuts in a beautifully decorated salon that feels like a private home on Manhattan's upper East Side.
Sharon Dorram currently resides in New York City with her husband and children.
